Refer to detailed frequency converter solutions for ships here
Purpose of using frequency/voltage converter:
When the ship arrives at the port, if the voltage on the ship is different from the Vietnamese grid of 380V/50Hz, for example, the ship's electricity is 440V/60Hz, 690V/60Hz, 200V/60Hz. If the ship's diesel generator continues to run, the cost of oil will be very high. emits CO2 and other toxic gases that affect the environment. Our solution is to use a frequency converter to convert 380V/50Hz grid power to 60Hz or 400Hz power to supply the ship's essential electrical equipment such as lighting, air conditioning, communication system... Then the ship's diesel generator can stop working to save fuel.
With this solution, the electricity cost is only equal to the price of grid electricity and does not emit harmful emissions to the environment.
Static frequency converters for marine vessels are designed for power supply systems for ship equipment.
The 50/60Hz frequency converter for shipbuilding comes in two forms: on ports (DOCK or ON SHORE type) and on ships (NAVY or ON SHIP type). First, the DOCK type has a fixed input voltage (dock voltage) and a settable or fixed output voltage set to supply power to vessels that are not compatible with the local port power supply; The second type, the NAVY type, has a settable or fixed input voltage and a fixed output voltage to supply power to ships from a line connected to a port anywhere in the world.
PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
DOCK type frequency converter:
Fixed input voltage (dock voltage) and output a fixed or settable voltage and frequency.
The rectifier converts the AC alternating voltage into a stable DC voltage and then supplies the IGBT inverter to convert the DC source into a standard sine alternating voltage using the PWM pulse width adjustment method. The output power of the inverter is fed into the transformer and filter
The output voltage is sinusoidal with 3% distortion. The output is electronically stable in both voltage and frequency
Frequency converter type NAVY:
Input voltage and frequency can be fixed or variable, output voltage is fixed. Connect from the frequency converter to the seaport through the connection wire bringing power from the port. The operating principle of the transfer stage is the same as the DOCK version but the working conditions are on ships. Can calculate the energy supplied to the ship.
Operating Conditions: NAVY type static frequency converters are designed for marine operations meaning IP20, IP31, IP54 or IP56 sea water environmental conditions, humidity, salinity and vibrations of the ship at sea with special coating on our electronic PCB boards to protect against harsh marine conditions. Its operating conditions also allow for continuous power supply from shore when the ship is docked for long periods of time.
