Short Description

400Hz Frequency Converters - Solid State Aircraft Ground Power Units (GPUs)
The product is manufactured in Europe

When on the ground, an aircraft cannot use power from the 50Hz/60Hz grid. The aircraft must use 400Hz power supplied by a Ground Power Unit to supply the loads and guidance systems, converted by a frequency converter from 380V/50Hz to 400Hz, with aircraft voltage of 200V/208V/115V.
The frequency converter can be an Outdoor type installed outdoors to meet harsh conditions, or an Indoor type installed indoors, beneath the walkway leading to the aircraft. The indoor frequency converter can also supply power for aircraft maintenance, aviation equipment, and avionics equipment.

The main benefit of using this frequency converter is energy savings. A ground power unit using a 400Hz frequency converter can be turned on whenever power needs to be drawn from the 50Hz ground power grid, meaning there is no need to keep running the aircraft engine and onboard generator (APU). Therefore, the 400Hz frequency converter minimizes noise (since the aircraft engine is not running), reduces environmental pollution and fuel consumption, and reduces maintenance of the AHU, generator, and battery on the aircraft

The frequency converter (frequency converter) can be single-phase or three-phase, with the function of converting the mains grid frequency from 50Hz/60Hz to 400Hz for aircraft, aviation equipment, aircraft navigation systems, radar systems, telecommunications systems....

400Hz frequency converter (frequency converter 400Hz) supply power 208V/400Hz or 200V/400Hz or 115V/400Hz or other options and  can optionally add a DC power supply 28VDC for aircraft from the 380V/50Hz grid power (also known as a ground power unit - Ground Power Unit). There are 2 types of 400Hz frequency converters: Static Semiconductor Type and Rotary type using Diesel engine

Power range from 5kVA to 315kVA.
