Short Description

The Z1000U is a matrix frequency converter line recently introduced to the market by Yaskawa. This frequency converter line is dedicated to HVAC applications, featuring a compact design and highly effective harmonic elimination without the need for passive filters or multi-pulse processors.

The Z1000U applies matrix technology with a system of 9 bidirectional on/off switches arranged in a matrix. This switch matrix system directly converts the 3-phase AC input power into 3-phase AC output power at a variable frequency. This design eliminates the need for a rectifier and a DC bus system commonly found in conventional frequency converters. In addition, thanks to reduced harmonics, the power factor of the Z1000U can reach up to 0.98 across the entire speed adjustment range. The device also integrates input protection fuses and an EMC (electromagnetic interference) filter.

As it is designed for HVAC applications, the Z1000U features an energy-saving mode (eco-mode) and supports the BACNet communication standard. The device has an LCD operation display and a real-time clock for fault logging. Yasakawa offers the Z1000U in power ranges from 7.5 up to 350 hp, providing a wide variety of options for users to choose from for each of their applications.
